Drug Abuse : Why is it still being ignored?

Problem

Donald Lynn Frost once said "Drugs take you to Hell, Disguised as heaven". There is nothing to be disagreed upon the saying as we look towards the bitter fact that, many of our youth are hooked towards drugs like cannabis, tobacco, cocaine and heroine. With many of this population unemployed and under depression, drugs are a perfect form of escapism. Our country , India is a land of rich cultural history and its teeming prosperity made it a powerful nation. Every third person in India is a youth and this youth will decide whether the progress of our nation will incline or decline. With 30% of the youth in Haryana and Uttar Pradesh addicted to drugs, the numbers rise upto 70% in Punjab state , the progress of our nation seems to be covered in dark clouds. The harsh truth about Punjab's Drug problem was also depicted in a Bollywood Film 'Udta Punjab' which brought the issue into light.

Where did we failed?

1. The first and the foremost reason of the rise to this problem is lack of communication between the children and their parents. Sometimes parents are too busy in their own life and work that they tend to forget that the future of their children is in their hands. And if there is any error in shaping them, it could costs them their whole life.

2. The onset of being adult is too cool for some teens that they want to try out new things. In this desire to explore new things they often get exposed to drugs and alcohol. And once your tongue get's familiarised to its taste then it is very difficult to resist.
3. Though government has made strict rules against drug policies and drug trades in rave parties, bar, clubs but people find loopholes in the law and continue to practice.
4. There are many chemists shop that don't have legal licence to practice and sell drugs without a prescription.

How To Tackle?

Apart from what government can do to kill this evil, the focus should be more on what we can do as a responsible citizen?
1. If you’re the parent of a teen or adolescent reading this, go and talk with your children about the dangers of alcohol and drugs. Bridging the gap between parents and children will not only improve your relationship but will also make him/her that you are there to support them in any situation.
2. If you are any teen or adult having problems with abusing drugs then don't hesitate to seek help. Talk to your loved ones, discuss with them and visit your doctor or any local De-Addiction centres, rather than repenting for it later and feeling guilty.
3. Schools and society must organize events/activities depicting harmful effects of drugs and alcohol and creating awareness among people of all age groups.
4. On the other hand society must support a person who is willing to quit by creating a healthy and nice environment around him rather than scolding or making him feel guilty.

Drug abusing is one of the problems faced by our youths and we all must need to eradicate this evil at any cost. Although this is going to take long but effective and proper measures will certainly help curb this practice.

Cutting Nails at Night As I already discussed about it earlier, so why is this still said not to cut nails at night. This myth belongs to that times when we used lamps or candles to lighten up our house at night and at that time we didn’t have nail cutters to cut our nails. Sharp objects like blades/knives or stones were used to cut. Such sharp objects can cause serious injuries if used in low visibility such at night, therefore it was advised not to cut at night. Saving the Unreserved - Reservation System

The joint entrance examination committee recently announced the jee main scores and ranks along with the announcement of JEE advance Cutoff marks. With a lot anticipation among children to get admissions in the top institutes, this year’s cut off was pretty low as compared to last year’s. While the general’s cut off dropped to 81 from 100 last year’s while it dropped to 49 from 70 ,and 32 from 52, and 27 from 48 for Scheduled Caste , Scheduled Tribe respectively. This year’s cut off brought happiness to students and their parents due to low cutoff. But this maybe an indicating warning about the upcoming problem. Many general category students may have been in good or better colleges if there were no reservations. As these students are exposed to this reservation system so  some of them extensively rely on this in upcoming opportunities in life due to lack of skills. Like seats in the colleges are reserved, 50% of the government jobs are reserved as well. So...
