Are We Doing Enough to Stop Cross-Border Terrorism?

This 15 Jan, India observed its 70th Armed Forces Day (Army Day). The Indian Army is the third biggest military contingent in the world. It was formed in 1776 and since then it was brought laurels to the nation.
Army Day is celebrated annually to mark the take over of General K M Cariappa as Commander of Chief of India on 15 Jan, 1949.

Since then India has won many wars but there is still one fire, one war that started but never ended, a conflict between two world's most powerful nations, the nations that were once one - India and Pakistan. There have been regular violations and cease fires from Pakistan in India over the past 2 years which have tested our patience.

The question arises is that are we doing enough to stop or prevent these cross border terrorism or not ?
  1. It is estimated that there were about 770 cross border violations and militant attacks around the Line of Control (LOC), to which Indian Army has given an equal response. But such cease fires have resulted in the loss of many lives of the Indian Jawans.
  2. The Indian Army has decided to strengthen its forces and tighten its grip over India-Pakistan border to keep an eye on any movement or suspected terrorist attack.
  3. The Centre has decided to deploy a number of observation posts around the border fences in order to monitor suspicious activities.
  4. The government has installed a number of modern technology high tech equipment around the coastal region to improve coastal security. Such measures were taken since the attacks of 26/11 in Mumbai.

  5. The Centre has established many central intelligence offices around the country to take an eye of any armed/unarmed insurgency against the government.
  6. The governement has issued round the clock surveillance and border patrolling at both land and sea.
  7. India is making number of attempts to have a peace talk with Pakistan in order to eliminate their differences and maintain law and order.

Its been more than 70 years since India and Pakistan divided and they have yet failed to keep their differences apart and move on. The people on both the sides need only one thing that is Peace and Harmony.

Army day is also celebrated to pay homage and to the soldiers who sacrificed their lives to protect the dignity of our nation. The army day begins with paying tribute at Amar Jawan Jyoti at India Gate followed by a parade.

It's high time we combat Fake News

With more than 56 crore internet users in India, rumours and misinformation spread across the nation like a wildfire. This misleading information in the form of fake videos, images , memes,  advertisements and messages is spread through various digital forms of communication and then through the word of mouth. Even popular news channels become the victim and source of these fake news (Credit:Youtube) A popular rumour that spread across the social media app Whatsapp back in 2016 was, that the new Rs.2000 note had a GPS tracker in it. Well it sounded kind of a joke to us, but many people believed that it was true. Also similar rumour that appeared was that the Rs 10 coins circulated in the market are fake, making auto-drivers and vegetable vendors to discontinue the exchange of currency.
