Top Tips for Living with Less Plastic

Since this year's World Environment Day theme was Beat the Plastic, I hope some people out there seems to now have sensed how bigger the problem is and others might be thinking how can we substitute/eliminate the usage of plastic. The truth is that even small changes of habit, accumulated over time, add up to a big difference.

Well to help you out with it , we have some tips for you on how to live with less plastic around you:

Carry your on carry bag

Remember those days when our grandmother use to carry an old jute bag while going to the market to buy food and stuff. Whether you can say it vintage or old-fashioned, but that's the best practice to reduce your plastic consumption.Rather than taking a carry bag from a shop-keeper, put your things in it. Slowly and gradually this practice will become a habit. Say "NO" to plastic bags.

Avoid using plastic straws/spoons

Plastic straws and spoons at a dine in place are usually
the things that are single used and thrown away. Most of the those thrown away straws, cups and spoons are the usually seen littered on the road or at the place after a public gathering. These small plastic objects are often most dangerous for the animals.
So avoid using straws and rather have a traditional sip to your coffee or buy a stainless steel straw.

Reuse your containers

Reuse your glass jars/cardboard box to store your leftovers or to refill your grocery. Avoid using plastic ware to store food products and rather reuse them if you already them. Glass jars are rather more hygienic than plastic, as they are easy to clean and are odorless.

Carry your water bottle

Carry your own water bottle at the office, school or gym. Rather than using a plastic cup to drink water from the water vending machine every time, refill your own water bottle. This will save your time as well as the plastic cups you would have used over a couple of hours.

Buy Fresh, Consume Fresh

Avoid buying frozen foods and juices that are all packed in plastics. Instead of buying these plastic packaged foods , buy fresh fruits and vegetables from the market and consume them. The more we limit our consumption of packaged foods, the less plastic waste we’ll generate and the healthier we’ll be!.
