What can be so addicting or challenging about a game that one didn't stop playing it until it get's finished? While reading this you will be surprised to know that India ranks no. 1 for highest Blue Whale related searches worldwide according to Google Data.

The name Blue Whale first came into light when the police came to know that there were some things common about all the recent suicide of teens. Following are the things that were quite common in all the victims and parents must look out for in the children:
  • They all started behaving odd for the past few days.
  • They preferred to stay alone.
  • The used to woke up at rather unusual times , because some of the tasks involved doing them late night.
  • They were depressed, aggressive and felt fear and anxiety for most of the time.
  • They pulled themselves out of the social lives and stopped their daily routine habits.
  • They all ended their lives.
Blue Whale Challenge is a series of 50 tasks, whose last task is to end up their lives. These 50 tasks are risky and involve dealing in dangerous situations or doing physical damage. The administrators of the games interact with the children using their social posts. They watch out for children that seems to be depressed and tired of his daily life. They interact with them slowly and gradually and make up their mind to play it. They are asked to send regular screenshots of each task they complete. If a participant ever tries to quit a game in a middle of a task then he/she is being blackmailed, or frightened or given threats of doing damage to their close ones. What happens next is that the participant never quits and performs the ultimate task. This game has already taken up so many lives in Europe and many cases were reported in India as well.

What to do?

  • Watch out for sudden change of behavior in kids.
  • Parents should discuss about pros and cons of social media platform.
  • Parents should ask their children whether they are facing any problems in their life.
  • Children should openly discuss their every problem to their parents or their teachers.
  • Teachers should arrange for counselling sessions of children in school or colleges.
Though the creator of this phycopathic game is serving his sentence in jail, but this game is still looking out for more innocent lives to claim. So be aware. Stay safe and advice others the same.

With a lot anticipation among children to get admissions in the top institutes, this year’s cut off was pretty low as compared to last year’s. While the general’s cut off dropped to 81 from 100 last year’s while it dropped to 49 from 70 ,and 32 from 52, and 27 from 48 for Scheduled Caste , Scheduled Tribe respectively. This year’s cut off brought happiness to students and their parents due to low cutoff. But this maybe an indicating warning about the upcoming problem. Many general category students may have been in good or better colleges if there were no reservations. As these students are exposed to this reservation system so  some of them extensively rely on this in upcoming opportunities in life due to lack of skills. Like seats in the colleges are reserved, 50% of the government jobs are reserved as well. So...
